Know How The 36 Cows Were Dead In Dwarka, Delhi

New Delhi: Thirty-six cows were found dead at a cowshed in the Chhawla area in Dwarka, the Delhi Police said on Friday.

The police were informed about the deaths of the cows at around 12.30 pm on Friday. The cowshed has 1,400 cows and it is suspected that the 36 cows died due to "some disease", they said. A team of doctors is currently on the spot.

Two cows were found dead on Thursday. The locals have also been told not to go near the cowshed.

A wrong dose of vaccination caused the death of 22 cows at a Dairy in Burari in the last five days. Dairy accuses a government veterinary doctor of giving a dosage of vaccine after the animals developed boils on their body, which caused deaths in the last five days and another 58 are still fighting for life.

On Thursday, a team of doctors from the Animal Husbandry department visited the site to take samples of the fodder, which may have caused the initial illness and also sent the animal bodies for Post-Mortem.

Baburam Tyagi, the owner of the ‘Cow Pride Private Limited’ Dairy, confirmed that a government doctor is called every six months for vaccination. This time the cows started to fall ill soon after the SMD vaccination. He then contacted a private veteneririan who confirmed that late SMD, in this case, caused the animals to fall severely sick.

“The exact reason is still unknown, it could also be because of poisonous fodder. Until we get the post-mortem reports, nothing can be ascertained. We have sent samples of all the animals and fodder to our laboratory and will confirm the reason soon,” said a source from the Animal Husbandry Department.
